Stewardship is the term we use to describe Feral Flora’s approach to “maintenance” and “weeding.” We don’t want to maintain the status quo; we prefer to steward land and people towards a better future.
Tending to the sites in which we work requires thoughtful consideration of history of land use, current goals, budget and functionality. Each site is different, and your focus could be on creating wildlife habitat, rainwater mitigation, color enhancement, public enjoyment, or simply to feel more connected to your land.
We care about how the site is used, who is using it and what it will look like in the future. We love to share with landowners about what we find while we’re working and encourage their curiosity for the natural world.
